Richard, I don't know what or who you are responding to. My response that you replied to was my comment to Ronalds problem, it  has   nothing to do with the flatpack.   His system can't see the the packages on the dansmith WEB page.

This isn't anything Ubuntu or Debian based, it uses the platform defined in the flatpak configuration file, in this case:

    "app-id": "com.danplanet.chirp",
    "runtime": "org.gnome.Platform",
    "runtime-version": "3.32",
    "sdk": "org.gnome.Sdk",

Which worked previously although this platform/sdk is depreciated for the same reasons chirp was removed from some distros. Python 2 EOL.
