Hi Steve,
You only need to put the frequencies into a CSV file with Excel or a program
like Libra Office.
I might have a CSV file with what you need, and then you download the file
from the radio, then import the CSV file you want, and then upload to the
radio.
Not sure how well a Mac works for this, best done in Linux or Windows.

Thanks so much for the note Nigel.
My wife and I will be sharing a license, as will another couple who are
getting a license, and another volunteer member will be getting a license
as well.
I’ll be using a Mac to work with Chirp.
We’ve ordered three BTech V1s and BTech 50X1, as well as a Retevis RT97
from myGMRS.com and are looking for someone to write the Chirp files that
we can upload into the radios so that they’ll all work together, as
opposed to trying to program them on our own.
Is this something that you might be able to help us with? I can get the
channels programmed into the repeater from myGMR.com or I’ll see them for
myself on Friday!
Thanks again, hope to hear back from you!
Steve

Can't send you the file as you didn't say which computer OS you were
using.
To use GMRS, all of those users NOT in your immediate family (and you)
will need to apply for a GMRS license from the FCC. GMRS is only for
non-commercial use. You might be better looking at MURS.
Whichever, you will need type approved, pre-programmed radios, not
generic Baofengs or similar.
The rules seem somewhat undefined on repeater hardware except that you
are limited to 50 watts.

Hello there!
I represent a group that has been restoring the Cape Decision Lighthouse
in southeast Alaska for the past twenty years, and one of our projects
this summer is to establish a GMRS radio network on our property.
The radios are all getting shipped to Alaska now, but the person who was
going to help us program them is no longer available! I am writing to
see if anyone here might be willing to help us, potentially by writing
and sending us the Chirp files needed to get us up and running. There
is no internet or cell coverage where we’re going, but I’ll have a brief
opportunity this coming Friday to sit with the radios and a computer and
Chirp before we leave for the lighthouse on Saturday.
The system includes:
(3) Baofeng handhelds
(1) Baofeng mobile base
(1) Retivis repeater
I can send send more details about makes and models and any other
information you may require! My hope is that someone on this list can
can help ensure that the base station and handhelds and repeater can all
communicate with each other with Chirp files I can easily upload into
each radio.
Please send word, and thanks so very much! Happy to make a donation
somewhere to get this done in time...
Thanks for your consideration!
Steve
