Yes the hardware will not support Maverick. I have a prolific cable and I finally got it to see the cable and radio but it errors out and tells me it might be a bad cable. I am using the same cable that I use with my vx-1r. May be wrong cable?
I forgot to ask, what is the make and model # of your USB serial cable? This is something we must know before attempting anything.
Just as a heads up, the task is probably going to be finding the right serial driver for you and nothing to do with the CHIRP app.
I do observe that you are three OS X versions behind, which will makes things a bit harder. Is the reason you have not upgraded your OS X is that your Mac hardware does not support OS X beyond Lion?
Pete
Thanks. I have 10.7.5 on OSx and am trying to clone a Yaesu FT-60R. I finally saw the instructions to install the python runtime. Did that and it loads now, just can't get the radio to clone to the software though.
Glad to help. First there are two questions:
- What version of Mac OS X are you using?
- What is the make and model number of the Ham radios?
This doesn't have anything to do with Windows 8.1 but I have Chirp on Osx
10.7.5 and I can't get it to open. It acts like it is opening but then
jus disappears. I have tried 0.4 and 0.3.1. Same thing happens. Anyone
have a clue what to do?
Thanks ahead for the reply.
Jeff
