On CHIRP, the settings show up on the very left side of the screen, usually by clicking a box right below 'memories' or 'channels' (I forget what term is used. For the VX-7, you can also use the VX-7 Commander software found at www.kc8unj.com. It is a free program.

I'm not seeing where the program allows??to receive/send the radio settings to the rig other than the basics. Is that correct?
