_______________________________________________I've tried both Linux and Windows versions with the same result. Seems it's stopping with an error because it's trying to read memory name data for the band edge memories which don't have memory names.

Sent from my iPadIf they wrote a Linux product I would give it a try, Windows, I am done with it as muchas I can.
I hope this is something that has dropped through the cracks in the rush to support all ofthe Chinese radios.

I know this is a Chirp user group, but I have a solution. I use the RT Systems software for my IC-92AD, with no problems whatsoever.

It starts at zero and stops at 849, since it starts at 0, it should go to 849, that will be the A memory channels, then it should do the 450 channels of the B memory side, but I see that it only pulls 400 (0-399) down. I dosee the B channels I have programmed so it is pulling those down. But I do not see the memory banks on the Bside nor do I see in the last tab labeled D-Star, the D-Star repeater data.
The legend at the bottom center of the screen shows the memory count incrementing as it reads the radio, whenit stops this is what is there:
[0] Getting Bank information for memory 849
Not sure what is going on but it appears to stop there, but appears to be trying to still read.
I am thinking that since it does not finish reading the B memory side it is hung there.
Also if I go into a memory channel and change any parameters it no longer works pushes the changes to theradio. Used to be that you would change something in Chirp and you would see it pushed out to the radio.
I am wondering if since it cannot finish reading the B side memory it is hung waiting and that is why I cannotchange the radio data from Chirp.

Is there 850 channels in the chirp download, and did it start with 0?--

Does anyone use Chirp with the Icom 92AD? I have used it for the radio, normally just toprogram the frequencies I use around my area of travel. But I want to do a bit more, but Isee somethings that do not square.
Taking into account that the radio has been around I guess for 10 years or more it doesnot talk over the RS-232 link very fast, so it does take some time for Chirp to pull in every-thing.
But after I have allowed it to do it's download from the radio, I am left with a notice at thebottom reading as follows:[0] Getting Bank information for Memory 849.
Here is the memory info taken from the manual:
The IC-92AD has 850 memory channels in the A band, 450memory channels in the B band, and 2 call channels in eachband. Memory channels in each band include 50 scan edgememory channels (25 pairs) for storage of often-used fre-quencies, respectively. And a total of 26 memory banks, A to Z, are available ineach band for storing groups of frequencies, etc. Up to 100channels can be assigned into a bank.
It appears that something it halting at memory 849, and it can proceed no further.
If I look at what is loaded into Chirp I see that the following screens are populatedMemories (Band A)Banks (Band A)Memories (Band B)
These are not populatedBank Names (Band A)Banks (Band B)
Bank Names (Band B)
D-Star
Yet I am using both memory banks (analogue is A and D-Star is on B) I have bank nameson with frequencies in them, so not sure what is going on. But it looks like Chirp is not readingpast memory 849.
Also I used to be able to change channel data (freq, tone etc) and since the IC-92AD is a"live radio" I would see the changes show up in the radio immediately, now I see nothing, also if I try to use the refresh button, the screen in question goes blank.
I am running Mate 18.04. Chirp is Rev daily-20190201The IC-92AD was why I started using Chirp, back in those times I could do anything to theradio made the Icom software for which they charge (still) and outrageous amount lookedstupid. Yeah, it had a screen that showed a image of the radio and what was on the radioscreen, big deal I could look at the Chirp screen that showed the channels and see EXACTLYwhat I wanted to see plus what was in above and below that channel.
Is the radio pretty much abandoned or is there someone who can look at this? What infocan I supply to help fix this. The radio is still in very good shape even though it has traveledall over the planet and see some pretty grungy environments.
If you need more info holler and I will try to provide it._______________________________________________--
