Beofeng is an .img (image) type radio.  It is completely unclear in the documentation for new users that you MUST do a download first.  The authors claim it is clear except that they don’t tell you what radios need it and what to do to create it.  Oh, well, clear to some I guess.

The TH-F6 is a live radio.  You let it populate and then make changes.  Menu #9 is the one to change the function of the speaker/mic sockets.  It has 3 choices.  All obvious.

I have both and they operate completely different with the same program.  Nice program!
