to upload to the F9, or the UV-5 for that matter, you need to do two things….set up your frequency plan, labels, etc in CHIRP, and save it. next, copy the contents of the radio to a new chirp database. delete everything in it, and copy from your original chirp freq plan to the now blank one from the receiver. If you go to the Radio pull down, the ‘upload to radio’ will be grayed out unless you are actually in the radio’s database. If you try to upload directly from the CHIRP list that you made, it won’t work but if you select the radio’s database and copy into it, it is happy. Once you figure out some of these obscure kinks you’ll find the BaoFeng is pretty simple.
