I read somewhere, to turn the radio off...then depress the 3 key and turn the radio on, and the firmware number will display in the radio's led display window. Anyway that's how I found my firmware number. It worked for me. Whether it is correct or not is yet to be determined.
And thanks for the link to the firmware .img files. I'm far from getting the radio programmed. I'll send you an email Jim and you'll see why.

Get the latest CHIRP daily build if you don't already have it. Use CHIRP to find out what the "real" firmware version your radio has.
Settings -> Other Settings -> Firmware Message 1:
Then get a "factory" image that was saved from a radio having the exact same firmware version and upload it to your radio.

Everything seemed to be great with my first programming attempt. Now I'm getting the dreaded NO SOUND while someone is transmitting. I found
through
a search that I could push the mono button down to hear. It worked. So I've obviously got a corrupted image or something. I'm new to this and
it
seems I've ruined this BF-F9V2. Any easy fixes? Thanks for any advice.
