When trying to either import CSV/CHIRP files or just writing the data read from the radio back to it, CHIRP tells me that my frequencies are out of range. It's a 2m radio, and it's telling me that 146.970 and 147.000 are outside of the allowed range. I tried using both the latest released version and the 20130411 nightly. I'm on OS X 10.8.2 if it matters.
Does anyone have a hint as to where to look to fix this?

Daniel, I had a similar issue with my Icom IC-Q7. I recommend that you submit a 'New Issue' and include a debug.log and a copy of the downloaded image from your radio for the devs to look at. That worked for me. Jim KC9HI
Good call, Jim. The published limits for the PX-777 are 136.000000-174.000000 MHz (see http://chirp.danplanet.com/download/0.3.1/Model_Support.html). If you're attempting to program within those limits and it's not working, there's a bug somewhere! Please submit an issue.
