Dave,
Based on the manual, the radio is a Dual Band (where the 5X3 is 3 band).
Also, the ABR (backlight display time) maxes out at 5 seconds, where newer models time out at 10.
Based on the manual, it appears to be a base line Baofeng UV5R.

I have a Rugged RH-5R that looks to be the same radio as a Baoffeng UV-5X3. What I would like to know are they the same? and and if so can I use chirp on my Rugged? as it is not listed on the support list.
