ok, I installed the chirp-daily-10312011 and had exactly the same error. I do have a vx-7 but do not have the cable yet to test that one.

Have you used your USB-serial adapter for anything else? What device name are you putting into the clone box?

Specifically about making sure the computer is waiting for the radio before hitting the button to fire off the clone from the radio side?
