Thanks for the advice.
I removed the existing installation of chirp-daily using the Synaptic Package Manager (despite the fact that it was reporting the installed version as the latest 20160116~wily~1). I then searched for any files on the computer that had a name including chirp using the Files app and deleted them using terminal and sudo rm (-r) in the folder where they were found. (Some seemed to belong to previous installations of chirp.)
I then did a fresh installation of chirp-daily listed under Amateur Radio in the Synaptic Package Manager.
Chirp-daily now reports the correct (and latest) version in its About window. It remains to be seen what happens when the Software Updater offers the next version. (I have the chirp-snapshots ppa listed in Other Software in the Software & Updates panel.) Hopefully it will now report the version installed.
Regards,
David Chatterton

This is for all DSTAR icoms. Did you get it to save the urcall information? I can download from the radio but it will not upload back in to memory with the new changes. On Jan 18, 2016 12:51 PM, "Ryan Tourge" ryan.tourge@gmail.com wrote:
That would make sense. The Icom software has it in banks of 100.

I have a new iMac I can get chirp to read my radio but it will not
write to it I keep getting an error saying that chirp can?t see the radio but it just cloned it. I have tried two different cables down loaded the drivers and reinstalled chirp. Thanks for any help.
I had to make sure each frequency memory was assigned to one of
the banks before the radio would accept the upload from CHIRP.
I suspect there is a way to force these constraints, but I am not
so familiar with Python yet =_)
Also, it seems you can only have upto 100 memeories per bank.
This is from memory with my banging on it for a few days.
