Why? Almost all the radios support initiation from the PC side.

Ok.. I think I was mentally (and incorrectly) interleaving the Yaesu section in as the issue when Bry was saying:

"I follow the key presses to get the radio into CLONING mode. I set it to "CL out." Then I try to "read" the radio into Chirp."

I retract my request!
