It is kind of like the parent who continually tells his kid that he doesn't know what he is talking about and then wonders why the kid won't talk to him any more.

I don't think this is really the issue, but this type of attitude is what keeps a
lot younger folks out of our hobby.
 
They go to a meeting, ask what someone else thinks is a dumb question, gets
berated and never goes to another meeting.
