I did a quick scan this morning and didn't see the bug report. What number is it and I'll follow up with it.

They have the UV-5RC on their list for future development because ONE user has repeatedly reported that Chirp crashes on this computer ever time he tries to read the data from his UV-5RC. Mine works fine with both Win7 Pro and Ubuntu 12.10
I have BFB-293 and a knock-off cable that came with the radio when I purchased it.
