Christian,I have used the driver from the Miklor site that was suggested earlier. Maybe we have a different MBP but a different programming cable for sure. My cable is unmarked and just black. If you want me to I can send a picture later on. I'm not at home right now.Regards,Marthijn

I would ask the same question. I did install the driver that was linked by Milton. I did not have to do a right click to install but I did it anyway. The system report however displays the same information as before:USB-Serial Controller:Product ID: 0x2303Vendor ID: 0x067b (Prolific Technology, Inc.)Version: 3.00Speed: Up to 12 Mb/secManufacturer: Prolific Technology Inc.Location ID: 0xfa130000 / 6Current Available (mA): 500Current Required (mA): 100The install routine gave me the message that everything was installed just fine and I restarted the machine before creating the system report. Results in Chirp remain the same exactly. I don’t know if this has anything to tell me, but the driver I downloaded only specifies up to osx 10.8.CheersChrisbtw. does one see his own postings in the email list? I replied once, but am not sure I got through. I just hit the reply button in mail.app.

I just purchased a Baofeng BF-F8, and have also been unable to get CHIRP to download from the radio using a Baofeng branded cable._______________________________________________On Wed, May 14, 2014 at 4:42 PM, Milton <thecanesvenatici@gmail.com> wrote:Get the Generic driver package. You have to right click to install to get around the Mavericks install nanny thatwon't let you double click to start the install on a package not signed by Apple.

Do you know if I need to unload the current driver…and in case I have to, how I do it? Sorry for the noob questions.Cheers,ChrisOn May 14, 2014, at 5:32 PM, Marthijn Soesbergen <marthijnsoesbergen@gmail.com> wrote:_______________________________________________Christian,Ik using a UV-5R and I program it with the same driver. Hi everybody,I’d like to know, if anybody managed to program the UV-82 using chirp (or the daily build 20140428) on osx 10.9.2. I read that one might or might not have to disable apple’s own driver for FTDI chipset. I’ve been googleing the topic for a few days now and have not found a way to make it work on my mbp. The system report will tell me that a USB-Serial Controller is there:USB-Serial Controller:Product ID: 0x2303Vendor ID: 0x067b (Prolific Technology, Inc.)Version: 3.00Speed: Up to 12 Mb/secManufacturer: Prolific Technology Inc.Location ID: 0xfa130000 / 6Current Available (mA): 500Current Required (mA): 100When I try to "download from radio” I have four choices in a dropdown menu, each of which will give me an error message:- /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port error: An error has occurred - Radio did not respond- /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem error: An error has occurred - could not open port /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem: [Errno 16] Resource busy: '/dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem'- /dev/cu.NoZAP-PL2303-000013FA error: Radio did not respond- /dev/cu.usbserial error: Radio did not respondAny ideas? I am using the USB programming cable from Baofeng, that came with the radio.btw. under windows7 (installed on the mbp) it works like a charm.Cheers,Chris_______________________________________________
