Didn't see the 706 included in the list of supported radios.
And don't see mention of being able to program memories.
I have given up, and have gotten a refund already from eShow.b2c -- they hadn't shipped yet.
Nice people, and I appreciate their integrity.
No more posts necessary, especially since the most recent aren't CHIRP-related.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions.

The 706 is supported with Scancat Gold SE. You will have to run it on
windows 32 bit if I remember correct.
The program was written a few years back. I use to use it with my scanners.
