There are probably hundreds or maybe thousands with the Baeofeng radios , including myself and I have programmed at least a dozen for the local CERT Organization with no major problems.
Based on this I would say you have something wrong with your system.

I have a Baofeng uv-5r and the radio is garbage and the Baofeng software is scrap. I sent an email to Baofeng about the software and they would not support it. I told them to get F#*&ked and said I would post there reply on Ebay.
