I’ve been a spectator through this, but it’s sad to see someone give up; here’s what worked for me.

I purchased a Baofung-branded cable from Amazon; here’s the exact link I used.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HQZE5IA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Everything I read said that cables like this were usually knockoffs, and not actually from Baofung, so I tried various drivers that were meant to be used with knockoff cables; nothing worked. I admit: it was frustrating.

But eventually I thought “well, hmm… what if it actually IS a real Baofung cable?” So I went to the Baofung website and downloaded the official driver.

And it worked perfectly on the first try, and I’ve been using the latest build of CHIRP ever since. Absolutely no issues whatsoever.

So I can suggest this to you: buy this exact cable, download your driver directly from the Baofeng website, and I’ll wager your problems will be over. Are you willing to risk $6.36 to find out?

Good luck, Randy

Can someone tell me how to unsubscribe please?

I have given up on the Chirp struggle and returned the FTDI - USB cable.

Thank you to all who tried valiantly to help me!
