HN5RV01 would be the real firmware version. All radios made after about 2012 show BFB298 even though they really have other versions.

Somebody will have to correct me but I think all UV-5R style 7 or 8 W three power level radios have to use BF-F8HP Chirp radio model.

Chirp Daily in ?Other Settings? is returning for Firmware Msg 1, HN5RV01,
