Mine identifies the cable as ; Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port (comm 4) as the assigned port.
Any help?

Can you read from the radio?  You need to do that before you write to the radio. What operating system are you using?  If Windows, check your cable on Device Manager. If it shows your cable is a Prolific, roll your driver back to 3.2.0.0.  This can be found at www.miklor.com.
