I think the 91A uses a constant communication mode where you do not have to put it in a clone
mode And I'm not sure what operating systems and driver combinations support this full duplex
communications.

Hello,

I’ve tried searching the archives, but have not been able to find any answers.
Here’s what I have:

Radio: Icom IC-91A
Cable: OPC1529R (made by Icom)
FTDI USB to Serial made by Tripplite

When I try to download the frequencies from the radio, everything comes up
as “ERROR”.

I was able to use the same FTDI cable to download and program my Yaesu FT-60R.
So I know that the USB-to-Serial cable works. I’m running CHIRP 0.4.0 on a Macbook Pro
on Mac OS X 10.9.2.

Did I miss something?

Thanks and 73,
