[chirp_users] TYT TH-9800 Not Uploading, "no attribute 'setTimeout'"

Hooked my new quad-band TH-9800 up to my Linux laptop, today. Used the cable supplied with the radio. Was able to download from the radio without a problem. After setting up all the repeaters, etc. I wanted, tried to upload. Received an error message that said: Failed to communicate with the radio. 'Serial' object has no attribute 'setTimeout'
