Another hint - I seldom have need to dual transmit, so in CHIRP I set band A to NAME and band B to FREQUENCY. Then when using the radio I tune both bands to the same channel (the channel number is displayed in small numbers at the extreme right of the display at all times when you are in channel mode). That way I can see both the name and the frequency of the channel I am on and don't have to worry whether I am pressing the upper or lower transmit key as both bands are set to the same channel. Not quite as good as a synchronized display but a good work around.

Name must be programmed with software like older radios On Apr 6, 2016 7:12 AM, "Tim Billingsley" kd5ckp@gmail.com wrote:
This is pretty sad and maybe a little off topic but ....
How do you get these things to go into "Name" mode?
I picked up a pair of these to have on hand when my YL and I go on a trip and I CANNOT get them to go into anything but VFO mode. I have them set to "Name" mode in the chirp settings and have tried changing them to Name mode in the menu of the radio and they will not change to anything but VFO.
What am I missing? Please enlighten me before I return them.
