Yes a loaner- they can;t afford to buy all the different radios.
But they need something to reverse engineer, so if you want CHIRP to do it
they have to have one to work with.

for new radios can be entered.
It is checked by the actual
developers.
They may request a donor radio to be backward
engineered. Just a thought.
I have the KT8900 version, and would like to see it
on CHIRP for the same reason.
