You choose Radio, COM port, Vendor, then Model then Ok. If that's what you mean
by saving a file from the radio. Now if you've already downloaded from
your radio, changed some stuff and uploaded back to the radio and you want
to save that template as a file chose from the menu bar File, Save as. That way
you can name it and see where it gets saved to. Not sure if you have to prepare
the TM-V71 to read and write to using it's set menu but if you've already had
a successful download, write data, then upload back to the radio you've got
that part conquered.
