How can I use Chirp to re-use One Master File for multiple Radio Brands &
Models?
Our Church in Northeast Texas has over 400 licensed hams with various
brands & models of Ham Radios.
Is there some way for me to build One Master file of Repeaters that
everyone can use to put all of us on the same ones?
Thanks

If you're not configuring specific settings on the radio, perhaps you could
distribute a CSV of the channels that they can import into CHIRP? At the
very, very least, it'd be readable in Excel/LibreOffice/Google Sheets if
for some reason it wouldn't import.

Yes.? Build your master file as you would, say, a Lotus 1-2-3 file.?
Save it.? You should already have the radio-specific files downloaded
from each radio when new.? Open the file whenever you wish.? Place your
cursor in the upper left-hand corner of the spreadsheet.? Drag it to the
lower right-hand corner of the spreadsheet.? The entire list of
frequencies, call signs, etc. should be highlighted. Right-click the
highlighted area and hit "Copy".? Then open the radio-specific file,
drop the copy anchored at the upper left-hand corner and click "Paste".?
Then save as before. Chris, N1CAK

P.S.? If you do not have all 400 files on your computer, have each
member send you their file as an attachment to an email.? Open their
Chirp file.? Then open the master file and follow my previous
instructions.? Save the file with its new date and attach it to an email
and send it back to them.? CAK, N1CAK

.Jim Manzi, the Lotus CEO and former McKinsey consultant, was a
classmate of mine at Georgetown and we both belonged to the eight-man a
capella singing group for the university, The Chimes.? I mastered using
spreadsheets as the CFO of multi-million dollar corporations on
SuperCalc.? As SuperCalc faded, I reluctantly made the transition to
Lotus.? To satisfy federal auditors, I mastered Excel.? I now
exclusively use LibreOffice's Calc.? CAK, N1CAK

I use the saved CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) from from my Baofeng UV-82
as the "master" image to program the memories all of my CHIRP
programmable radios no mater what the Vendor or Model is. All I do is
download from the target radio (or load a previously saved image from
it) to open a tab that is compatible with the radio. Then I import the
UV-5R image into that tab. No spreadsheet program or CVS file is
necessary. A "how to" is available here:
