I am trying to program my QRZ-1 using Chirp s/w and when attempting to read data from the radio, I am getting an "Error reading from radio: not the amount of data we want." (I can't use the s/w that should come with the radio because GigaParts did not send that to me yet.)
Any suggestions?

Hi Rich,
The usual cause for this error is that the 2-pin plug does not have a proper connection with the socket of the radio. A good example of this is that if you leave the plug disconnected from the radio and attempt a download, the result is exactly the same. Also for those running CHIRP under Windows, a similar situation can be caused when the device driver installed by Windows is not compatible with the USB-to-Serial chip inside the programming cable. There are tips related to the driver both in the CHIRP wiki pages and at the miklor.com radio information website.

If the above doesn't still doesn't help you (the odds are very high that it should), then I would recommend that you open a ticket and attach the required debug.log file.
