John,
This is the correct forum for issues installing/running CHIRP or for issues programming specific radios.
Is the issue that CHIRP won't run on your computer, or that CHIRP runs, but fails to work with this specific radio?
And just got clarity sake, you are attempting to program the Baofeng BF-F8HP, a radio with 3 power levels.

I don’t know if this is the proper forum to raise an issue regarding CHIRP on MacBook Pro (Mac OS 11.5.2 Big Sur) but I need help in getting CHIRP to work with regard to interfacing uploads/downloads to my F8-HP HT. If it is not, please provide me with a means by which I can state my problem in detail and track a resolution.
Thank you.

Yaesu FT270 H/H
Greetings, so far I have used CHIRP with 100% success in programming many radios. What I REALLY need is being able to program the YAESU FT270 Hand Held. When is one of you brilliant guys going to update CHIRP with this radio?
Thanks VE7ECJ

Radio should be ON when up or downloading. Remove the driver and cable program, reboot PC reload driver SHOULD correct issue. If using aftermarket cable check to see contacts are CLEAN (*shiny) and fit TIGHTLY into the mike provisioning adapter (Mic jack) DO NOT touch ANY buttons while programming. Worst case, prior to programming RESET the radio to factory resets then load your amended program.

UV5XP.... However to get CHIRP to see the radio either in the 'Download from

or 'Upload to radio' ... with the cable plugged in to my PC or my

radio must me switched OFF...then as I select 'Download or upload'
as I
select 'OK' i must immediately switch ON my radio then CHIRP sees it
and
proceeds. If I try to 'Download or upload' with the radio already
switched
on I get the message 'The radio did not respond' as CHIRP cannot see
it
connected. Any suggestions? Thanks VE7ECJ
That sounds like a programming cable/driver issue. Also, to program that radio you must choose...
