It appears that you do not have a compatible driver installed for your programming cable. Nothing with "bluetooth" in it would be the correct choice.
Like Windows users, the official Prolific drivers are designed to be incompatible with unauthorized Prolific chip copies. The workaround for Mac users (except for those running El Capitan) is to install one of the generic Prolific drivers referenced on the "MacOS_Tips" page.
