I checked that link. They say they are in the USA, and that they are a 'Distrubutor'. What is that? Are they to be trusted?

Before you buy an F9, look at this link:

I bought one and it wasn't programmable to a repeater period. I tried Chirp and no dice. I sent the radio back and thank heavens for the liberal Amazon return policy. I bought an F8HP and am much happier. Worked just fine. The F8HP was listed out of stock when I tried to get one originally but had come back up online after my experience with the F9. F9 didn't work with Chirp or possibly was dorked by it. Master reset didn't work. The 3800mah pack had to be pried off.
The BF-F8HP works perfectly with Chirp in spite of the disclaimer. Get an F8HP. Kurt KC9LDH

Hi Ron,
From the "Supported Radios" list on the CHIRP home page...
BF-F8HP (in daily builds) Also includes the BF-F9V2+ Also includes the GT-3TP Also includes the UV-5R TP
Yes, it is supported. You must use a daily build.
