I had a similar problem with mine my windows 7 my Windows XP works fine but I had to download the disc that came with my program cable and had to download the driver that was stamped on the back of the paperwork for the disc . Then it all loaded in and work is great I was able to clone the radio to reprogram it and then upload and download it. Hope this helps
