Looks like you still have the normal build installed too... try removing that and install just the daily.

Thanks to John and Paul for their help. I can't get the daily updates to work (I get errors from the ppa file) but I installed the latest stable version (0.4.1) and trimmed the cable.

Now when I try to read from the radio, the LED flashes a few times I get an error that "Radio refused to send block 0x0000".

I'm wondering if this is due to the failure of the daily update install. From the first  error to the end of the output of the "apt-get install chirp-daily" command is:

dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/chirp-daily_20150814~trusty~1_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/share/chirp/locale/pl/LC_MESSAGES/CHIRP.mo', which is also in package chirp 0.4.1-1.0~kamal~trusty
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/chirp-daily_20150814~trusty~1_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Thanks!

The ‘Radio did not Respond’ message can be caused by several possibilities. None are serious.
Solution can be found at http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_ErrorMess.php

Also, you are running an old version of CHIRP.
It’s very possible your radio is not supported.
Always run the Latest Daily Build.  http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_CHIRP.php

Hello, All...

I have the above radio and I'm trying to get CHIRP 0.3.1 on Linux to connect to the radio.

I'm using an USB cable that shows up as ttyUSB0. None of the lights on the radio change (LED should blink, right?) and CHIRP errors that the radio is not responding.

Any ideas where I should start looking?
