Thanks for the feedback. My thoughts are that by putting the entire application in Java, then there would be no platform dependencies at all. ( wishful thinking ) . I will be working "in the dark" so to speak as where I am spending my summer will have no real internet, just occasional email. Thus I will be bashing code without exterior support.
