Almost all of Motorola's software is specific to that series/model, and having the right version, and some of the older models require burning to ROM, and EPROMS. There are many different programing cables, again series/model specific, and then there is the RIB, Radio Interface Box, required for a lot of the programing. I have found that DOS is the only way and a slow processor.
Yep, and I'd love to get away from the DOS requirement for my stable of HT-1000s
