To
start, go Download the Latest Daily Build to your
PC.
http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_CHIRP.php
CHIRP
is designed to work with a great number of PCs.
For
CHIRP to recognize what radio you have you need to Download Image from Radio to
CHIRP to set up the initial image.
Now
you can start entering data for your radio.
When
finished, then you can upload the new template image to your radio.
Obviously
you can’t do this part until your cable arrives.
While
you are waiting for your cable to arrive, read the Drivers page thoroughly at
Miklor.com
The
biggest problem most people run into is not running the proper drivers when
using a generic programming cable.
If
the wrong driver is installed, it will not work. For XP you need Prolific
2.0.2.1

Hope
this helps.
