[users] GMRS Programming using CHIRP

i am very new to this, I am trying to program using CHIRP to the Baofeng UV-5R, as I am licensed to use GMRS, CHIRP, when I programmed in the frequency, put in DTSC in the tone mode column, which prevented me from hearing anyone, I changed it to tone, now I can hear other users, the tone is set at 88.5, channels that have a repeater are set to + 5.000000, FM at high power. As I am not sure if any of the settings are correct, as I am not able to contact anyone, is there anyone who can help me with the settings I need in all the columns? I appreciate any assistance you can give me in this!
