Yaesu does not have software. Are you referring to RT Systems software?

Joe,

You don't select a USB port. The radio uses serial communications. The
programming cable has a chip inside that when used with the
appropriate device driver installed in the Windows operating system,
creates a virtual serial port (COM port) for the programming software
to connect to. Follow the advice provided by Jardy in an earlier
reply.
