Sure, in this case I figured that it's reasonable to support a local (well, regional) retailer. Especially as a newbie to the hobby, where I've got enough questions without adding a translation layer.

Also note that when you buy the uber cheap radios out of China, if you get a dud it can be more expensive to return than the radio's cost.

I don't buy Baofengs very often but when I do I just go to Amazon and check that it ships from the US.
