Found strange thing.  To make it read I had to HOLD DOWN the PTT.  Not just press it.  Read fine and I have a good file here.  Now the darn thing won't write to the radio.  Is there a sequence for that I am missing?  It is in --RX-- mode and seems ok except for the Error and not working.
Thins radio is very new.  Might Yaesu have made firmware changes to Cloning?

Thanks all!

If I was to set up the com port in advance what would be the ideal setting CHIRP wants to see?

Yep but the FT-60 uses the other type without threads.  Nothing wrong with my cable as it has worked fine before on these two machines when I had XP on them.   This has to be a COM port permissions issue or a problem with the radio or maybe the program install.

The cable I have is one from KAWAMALL of eBay.  I have bought 6 cables from them and not a bad one yet.

Looks like the FT-60 uses the same type of cable that the VX-6 uses.  I
couldn't get any down loads with my VX-6.  I noticed that the plug on
the cable going to my radio had some screw threads on it near the
covering and when I looked in the radio plug  there were some there
also.  I then actually screwed the radio plug end of the cable into the
plug on my radio and everything started working just fine. Made good
contact I guess.
