I think for Yaesu radios the old ones had to go into clone mode which could cause them to get an image in the wrong format if you pick the wrong thing, or have an unknown firmware. I don't think most newer radios will have this problem unless they take an IMG file and you accidentally pick an IMG from the wrong radio.On Tue, Mar 17, 2020 at 12:29 PM Nigel A. Is there any documented cases of Chirp bricking a radio so badly it had to be sent back for a factory restore.
I see so many Yaesu users bring this up that they're afraid to use Chirp because it will break a radio bad enough to void warranty etc. etc...
