The last problem I had is overcome, that being selecting the Yaesu FT-60 from the dropdown menu. Chirp is a little picky how you select items, but I found it.
Now has to do with the cloning. When I plug in the Valley Enterprise FTDI cable, red and green lamps on the USB plug flash once simultaneously; very fast and only once. I set up the radio to clone without issue. When I set up Chirp to download from the radio, the port selection is only one: /dev/cu.bluetooth-incoming-port. When I press the PTT button on the radio, I get RX, then an error on Chirp. When I remove the USB from the MacBook Pro, there are no red/green lamp flash at all.
When it comes to using Terminal on mac, I am really concerned that I may screw something up beyond all recognition. I did download the the FTDI driver but to no avail.
I really appreciate any help y’all can provide on this issue. Thanks.

Not the correct port. It should be something like: /dev/cu.usbserial-A501XQ5I
If you don't see that, then you don't have a compatible device driver installed/loaded yet.
