Perhaps this has been addressed in another post, if so I would appreciate a reference to it but for now, here is my issues:
1: When I try to use CHIRP with on my 64-bit Vista home machine, I am unable to communicate to the radio, as soon as I turn on the radio, it displays the greeting then immediately goes into transmit mode. I pretty sure it has something to do with the USB ports on the computer because when I try to communicate with another brand of radio (QUANSHENG TG-K4AT) the same thing happens; Driver: Prolific Version 3.4.48.272 dated 3/5/2013
Chirp version: 0.3.1 Baofeng firmware BFB297 USB cable: purchased from AMAZON along with the radio.
2: I can install the appropriate CHIRP software on my XP based netbook and the same USB cable and I am able to talk to the radio but I still have some issues: a) I am not able to program the non-frequency settings. the chirp software doesn't even show anything under that heading. b)When I upload my channel program to the radio, it will skip some memory locations even through i have the csv file set to have consecutive memory channel loaded.
I have no problem using the netbook as my programing computer since I would normally have it with me anyway, but I would very much like to be able to change the radio non-frequency parameters.
Thanks for your help Rick Hanzlik N7NGK Salt LakeCity, UT
