also it states for the radio to be off, connected then turned back on, i got a couple error messages if I didnt do it that exact way

     Remove and reinsert the connector on the F8-hp.  I recently purchased the unit and I found the connector to be too snug to go all the way in at first.  It becomes easier to work with in time.
