Because this is a volunteer project and nobody has stepped forward to build and maintain debian packages :)
OK Just curious.
It's trivial to run directly from the source tarball on any linux flavor, and easy to do a /usr/local install as well.
I have it running and it works very well. Thanks for all your efforts and Happy New Year!
