Interesting side note.  The cable I bought is supposed to be a USB version of a KPG-4 cable.  I tested it on my VV-898 10 watt mobile and the cable works great read and write.  I have a true serial KPG-4 coming and I'll try that as my machine has a serial port on COM 1.  Strange how it seems to communicate with the radio and changes the front panel then throws a com error.

Well I found it.  Here is the last part of the file.  It seems to still be putting the radio into some type of mode with the two upper channel indicator lamps on.  It stays there after the error drops and only a power cycle will make the radio go back to channel 1.  Could it be that the radio has NO programming in it?  Forgive me if that sounds absurd as I don't work with these commercial radios too often.   Thanks for any help!

If it won't read, I definitely wouldn't try writing to it!

The debug log provides details about the error message.

Hello all
I have a 2 channel TK-863 mobile.   I have the USB cable that should work with it.  It comes up fine as a COM 5 but everytime I try to read the radio it errors out on CHIRP.  It does change the radio display to light up both channel indicators when it starts to read.  I'm guessing this is an indication it is trying to read.  Does anyone have an idea on this or maybe have a file I could write into it first?  Thanks!

Ronny
