Jackson, I'm glad you've managed to get CHIRP to work for your radio. However, I'm not sure how holding the OK button for a second resolves anything for uploading to the radio. It's not programmed that way. The download from radio instructions still include holding the PTT for 1 second.
John, would you be able to tell us what the error message says? What operating system are you using and what version of CHIRP?

Hello Chris!
I'm running Windows 7 Home Edition.
I hope this mailing list allows file attachment so I can show pictures of what I'm seeing. If not, I'll re-post with links to GDrive instead.
Pic 1 shows the output from a little support program that shows what version of the cable chipset I'm using.
Pic 2 shows the error I get when I try to send from the computer to the FT-60 when following the on-screen instructions including holding down the "OK" button for a full second as recommended by W7VMK.
Pic 3 is a window from FT-60 Commander that shows that I've enabled the "Alternate Write Mode" because if I don't check it I can't send to the FT-60.
Pic 4 shows the revised method of setting the FT-60 to receive data from the computer. Please note that this alternate set of instructions was provided by FT-60 Commander and this method WORKS.
Maybe this alternate method can be included into CHIRP someday.
I'm convinced it the particular cable I'm using but it's only a guess.
