CHIRP does indeed list support for my model: http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/HomeIt is right on their home page listed as I pointed out before. Also, the dealer I purchased from stated that the UV-5R programming software was correct and the poster of the video below, reviewing the UV-5RTP shows a different software version, VIP for UV5R, working.I noted a comment below the video sy=stating that the correct radio drop down is not the UV-5R as the name implies, but the BF-F8HP as the firmware would indicate. Thanks for your help. Of all the model mis-name, this has to be the worst. The only thing that this radio has in relation to the UV-5R it is named after is the case.SamOn Sat, Jan 31, 2015 at 10:59 PM, D.J.J. The listing of the Daily Builds does not list the model you say is listed namely UV-5RTP.

Baofeng BF-888
Baofeng BF-F8HP
Baofeng F-11
Baofeng UV-3R
Baofeng UV-5R
Baofeng UV-6
Baofeng UV-82
Baofeng UV-B5
Sam, where do you see that Baofeng uses the same software as the UV-5R?
Send me a link.
The version you have and the only HP version is the BF-F8HP as far as I know.
Again, various retailers - especially foreign non-USA ones use any model number they want.
