Right, I think that what Yaesu calls WFM is the same as what the 91/92AD call WFM, which is for broadcast FM reception. What Yaesu calls NFM is what Icom calls FM, which is "narrow" when compared to broadcast. What Icom calls NFM is what Yaesu means when you have your radio in NFM receive mode and is on "half deviation".
If you look at page 21 of your VX7 manual, you'll see that it calls to enable WFM mode when you're looking to receive FM broadcast signals. It's also why you can only select WFM on the Main band, since the sub receiver is not capable of receiving those types of signals. That's also why there is a separate WFM squelch setting.
It does let you transmit in WFM mode (unlike the Icoms), but I expect it is just using what it calls NFM (5kHz deviation) for that.
So, I think I'm saying you have your radio programmed incorrectly for those channels and that chirp is doing the right thing in not letting you import them into the 880 since it does not support wide (i.e. FM broadcast) reception. Would you agree?
