I'm getting an XP machine back in service to do all of my radio programming and when I install Chirp and try to run it I get an error Application cannot run because application configuration is incorrect. I tried uninstalling, downloading again and reinstalling again with the same results.
This has been covered on this list many times. Please check the archives for the details.
The error message you're getting has nothing to do with CHIRP, and is a generic Windows warning that you have some DLL version issues. Google for that "application configuration is incorrect" message and you'll find oodles of hits affecting lots of different applications. Get that straightened out and you'll be set.
